"Three Ways To Avoid Success Online"

Your success at online promotion and marketing will be much more likely to succeed if you will simply avoid some of the common pitfalls.
Someone once said that "Experience is the best teacher." Personally, I believe that it may be the only teacher for many. However, there are those of you who can profit from other's experience. If you are one of those, read on.
For several years I have been working at online marketing and promotion of sites, schemes and opportunities. Based on my own experience here are some things to avoid. Perhaps you can use them as touchstones to shorten your learning curve on the internet.
1) Using Free Stuff Only--There are a great many free resources online. Many of them are great. Some are not so great. Your challenge is to discover those things that are worthwhile and those that you are just spinning your mouse doing.
Sooner or later you will discover that you can greatly shorten your learning curve and your promotional efforts by purchasing those tools and information you need to succeed.
This includes getting a virtual domain name. If you are going to successfully promote a URL, you will have much greater success with your own domain name.
2) Too Many Directions--It's a candy store full of choices. Thousands of them. It is tempting; it is easy to surf off in any number of directions at once. Don't do it.
Limit your choices. Plan, read, research and ask others for recommendations. When you do have a "direction", stick with it. Paddle that boat for all it is worth.
3) Going It Alone--"No man is an Island entire of itself...", famous words by John Donne (1572 - 1631).
To extend that quote a little further he said that, "...every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main." This applies so well to the internet.
Here is the lesson: Don't try to "go it alone" online. Ask for help. Seek advice, establish close online relationships to guide and support you. Link to other sites that complement yours.
By avoiding these common pitfalls you will greatly decrease the amount of time and effort and increase your likelihood of success online.
Best of luck in your online efforts !
